All the love for Patty

A letter from Patty's owner/manager:

I would like to nominate my bridal stylist Patty Smulski for the "stylist of the year award."  Patty truly epitomizes this title.

I have owned and operated my bridal business for 38 years as of February 1, 2018.  I have been privileged to have employed and worked with many talented people through the years.  However there are but a few that have made such a positive contribution to my business.

Patty began her employment with me ironically on my anniversary date of February 1, four years ago.  She came from a marketing background, having spent 26 years working for a Mc Donalds franchise in their marketing department.  I had met Patty a few years previously when her daughter purchased her wedding gown from my store.  She had mentioned at that time that she would love to work for me someday.  That day came sooner than she had expected, but it great timing for me.

Patty immediately began to demonstrate her sales and people skills. Not only with customers, but by demonstrating her strong leadership qualities with my staff.  Patty is one of those stylists who not only challenges herself, her fellow team members, but she is always challenging me as an owner and person, to take my business to a new level.

Patty is resourceful in networking with other businesses.  Not only in finding places to recommend to her brides, but she actually negotiates for perks that she can pass on to her brides.  I feel Patty in "always on the job" no matter where she is or who she is with.  She talks about her job and how much she loves it.  Patty is always looking for an opportunity to hand out her business cards.  She passes out more business cards than any of my other stylists.

One example of Patty's true dedication to her Brides happened this past September.  Patty's family in from Greece and she had not visited there since she was a small child.  She had been saving for years to take a birthday/anniversary trip with her husband to Greece and surrounding islands.  Before leaving she had been working with a bride and was still gathering information for her.  Patty continued to check in with me while on her trip for the information for her bride.  She called her bride from Athens to follow up with her.  Needless to say the bride felt so important to Patty and of course purchased her gown from Patty when she returned.  This is but one example of Patty's dedication to her job and her brides.

Patty eagerly takes on new projects and is always looking for ways to improve our systems, our customer service and our team morale. She always displays integrity and respect with staff and customers.

Patty's sales are the highest of any single employee in my stores history.  She has determination to continually improve her performance.

Patty has helped to organize ways for my store to be more involved with the community and introduced me to some great charitable causes.

I recently promoted Patty to Sales Manager and she is bubbling over with ideas, goals and incentives to motivate the sales team.  I can't wait to see the impact she will have on our sales, but also on the sales team.

If it has not been obvious in my description of Patty, I have an immense amount of respect for her. She has had a profound impact upon my business as well as on me as a person.

Therefore, I ask for your highest consideration in selecting Patty for this prestigious award.

Sincerely yours,

Brenda Norman
